fittings are 16mm and 14mm or if they are 16mm and 16mm. (The '88 & '89 are
16mm & 16mm.)

(** - or > 3 pc - 800106ERL Earl's $6.25)

Update: 2007.07.04
The outlet on the AFPR may be an O-ring instead of an NPT style.
If so, I believe that the following fitting should be used instead of the 829006ERL Hose End, Swivel Seal, 90 Degree, -6 AN Hose to Male 1/ 4 in. NPT

1 pc - 849006ERL $26.95 Earls Fitting, Hose End, Swivel Seal, 90 Degree, -6 AN Hose to Male -6 AN O-Ring,

The point of using the Earl's fitting is to eliminate a hose end. The alternative
is to use the Holley-supplied 90º and just buy a fourth #220690 hose end to attach to it

Bracket for Throttle Cable

The OEM bracket can be modified to work.

Holley/Weiand's instructions list part numbers for GM and Lokar brackets.
No reports about these brackets in use have been seen, the Lokar brackets are
available through Summit and images of them suggest they require the Lokar cables

GM
1 pc - 14084305 $10.92 TPI Throttle Cable Bracket
1 pc - 14083307 ???? TPI Throttle Cable Bracket (discontinued)

Optional or required for GM bracket?
1 pc - 14080202 $15.54 Matching throttle cable

Lokar
TCB-40TP1 TUNED-PORT BILLET ALUMINUM BRACKET SINGLE STUD (Stud has one cable hole)
TCB-40TP2 TUNED-PORT BILLET ALUMINUM BRACKET DOUBLE STUD (Stud has two cable holes)
TCB-40TP3 TUNED-PORT BILLET ALUMINUM BRACKET TRIPLE STUD (Stud has three cable holes)
TCB-40SP - does not appear on Lokar's site - discontinued?

Another possiblity is the bracket for the LPE/Accel Super Ram
1 pc - ACC-74200 $25.69 Carburetor Throttle Bracket, SuperRam

DataMaster by TTS Power Systems: $119
I believe an '88 requires 'DM35x32 - Complete Installation'
A caution about DataMaster - TTS reportedly will not provide another install code at no charge if you happen to change machines or have a drive failure.

Fuel Pressure

The Schrader valve (which should be located in a fitting at the
end of one of the fuel rails) is the point where fuel pressure
is measured. See picture above showing rear of plenum.

This Schrader valve is all that is required for SETTING the fuel
pressure - attach the gauge, adjust pressure at the AFPR, remove
gauge and cap the Schrader.

For testing, I have a Tool Aid kit - #33980, IIRC. $67 from SJ Discount

If you want to MONITOR fuel pressure, then a tee fitting could
be inserted between the Schrader at the 90º fitting for the
fuel rail. Ideally, your tee would have a male end and two
female ends - this is known as a 'Male Run Tee' in Weatherhead
fittings terminology. The Weatherhead catalog number for a
1/8" pipe Male Run Tee in brass is "3750x2"

No fuel lines in the cockpit, please.

If you MUST run a direct reading FP gauge so you can monitor FP while
driving, then mount it outside on the hood in front of the windshield ahead
of the cockpit.

A FAR SAFER method is to use an electric fuel pressure gauge (EFPG).

Stewart-Warner offers EFPG's in 0-100 PSI readings.
One is the Seaworthy #83042 2-1/16" dia White bezel/White face/Black numbers
and needle. This gauge requires the SW #82893 sender.

A thread on CF - fuel pressure gauge.
Apparently Mo Bandy had a mechanical gauge with an isolator before switching to
an electric unit. An isolator is a device with a membrane: one fluid (fuel)
is fed to one side of the membrane and a non-flammable fluid is used on the
opposite side. The non-flammable side connects to a gauge in the cockpit. Mo
writes that he has some pictures on his website.

Fuel System Diagnosis
(From Chart A-7 in 6E3-A-19 of '89 FSM)

Expect fuel seepage/leakage when attaching/removing gauge.
Wrap a shop towel around fitting.
Have an assistant ready with a CO2 fire extinguisher (less mess).
Have a dry chemical extinguisher as a backup.

- Ignition Off, A/C Off
- Install Fuel Gauge
- Ignition 'On' - Fuel pump will run for about 2 sec
- With pump running, fuel pressure should be 40.5-47.0 psi (280-325 kPa)
and hold steady when pump stops

- Start and idle engine at normal operating temp
- Pressure should be lower by 3-10 psi ( 21-69 kPa)

- If not ok, use a MityVac to apply 10 inches of vacuum
      to pressure regulator.
- Pressure should drop by 3-10 psi ( 21-69 kPa)
